Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)

IT is a thermoplastic and consists of 70% (mass percent) terephthalic acid and 30% monoethylene glycol (MEG).  In the case of bio-PET, the MEG is produced from renewable plant resources instead of fossil ones. Ethanol from sugar cane serves as the basis of Bio-MEG. Eastlon is just as durable, unbreakable and transparent as its conventional fossil counterpart. As an equivalent substitute for virgin PET, it features the high tensile strength and high mechanical stability typical of PET. Eastlon Bio-PET is an equivalent substitute for ‘Virgin PET’ and is characterized by the high tensile strength and high mechanical stability typical of PET. In the case of Bio-PET, the plastic is as durable, unbreakable and transparent as petrochemical PET. For this reason, though, it is also not biodegradable. It can, on the other hand, be recycled together with conventional PET.
